Antony Riggins thought that he knew the plan for the rest of his life. Upon leaving the military he started a business, developed a site, and began bringing in customers. Just when everything was going as planned, COVID-19 hit. All of the customers he had worked hard to get were backing out in order to save money.
Using his GI Bill, he enrolled in courses with CTC. Just 3 weeks after finishing classes he was getting offers for IT jobs. He accepted an entry-level service desk position -- this became the first step in his new career.
Antony still remembers the training he received from CTC. He had just moved from Los Angeles to Georgia along with his better half and a little one. Out of the blue a friend forwarded him a CTC email and "cybersecurity" grabbed his attention. He was right away amazed along with the quality of the IT instruction.
"The coach was great," Antony remembers. “He worked one-on-one with me when there were areas that I wasn't grasping.” This kind of instruction was important to him. “Having to do the course from home was difficult. I found myself distracted a lot...having a baby at home will really do that. But I knew that I would get the extra help I needed.
He had passed the course with ease, but now it was time for him to find a job. "They were really helpful when it came time to look for jobs. I would not have gotten the interviews I did if I did not have CTC working with me.”
It is all about what is appealing about IT as well as cybersecurity-- what he refers to as an "process of frequently creating" and "identifying companies."“IT was not a field I thought I was going to end up in. But, after training with CTC and getting my first job I have began to love this career.”
